The Mekling Group is a conflict resolution consulting firm based in Orlando, Florida, dedicated to helping individuals and organizations navigate challenging situations with clarity and care. Specializing in mediation, conflict coaching, and conflict management, we provide solutions tailored to the unique needs of each client.

Our Founder

Gina Maxwell, Ph.D.(c)

Mrs. Maxwell is the founder and managing director of The Mekling Group, bringing more than 20 years of experience as a human resources practitioner. She has led initiatives across both government and private sectors, specializing in conflict management, labor and employee relations, and organizational compliance. A bilingual professional (English & Spanish), she is dedicated to serving diverse populations and fostering inclusive, sustainable solutions. Her leadership blends strategic vision with practical expertise, guiding individuals and organizations toward fair, constructive, and lasting outcomes.


  • Ph.D.(c), Conflict Analysis & Resolution – Nova Southeastern University
  • M.S.L., Employment Law; MBA & BBA, Human Resources Management
  • Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator: Circuit Civil, Family, and County
  • Florida Supreme Court Qualified Arbitrator 
  • Certified Federal EEO Investigator (EEOC, MD-110)
  • Certified Florida Public Labor Relations Professional (FPELRA)
  • Experience with collective bargaining, employment investigations, and workplace conflict resolution
  • Proven record of developing and delivering training programs in HR, leadership, and conflict management

LIZYVETTE RAMOS, PH.D.

Dr. Ramos is a bilingual (English & Spanish) mediator and conflict resolution specialist dedicated to helping families, couples, and individuals navigate sensitive disputes with empathy and clarity. With advanced degrees in conflict analysis, psychology, and law, she combines academic expertise with hands-on experience to guide clients through complex challenges. She brings particular expertise in cases involving domestic violence, trauma, and family conflict, ensuring safety, fairness, and constructive communication in high-stakes situations.


  • Ph.D. in Conflict Analysis and Resolution – Nova Southeastern University
  • M.A. in Forensic Psychology, B.A. in Psychology, and Bachelor of Law
  • Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator 
  • Certified in Mediation & Conflict Resolution (Ken Cloke) and Intercultural Competence (BRDGES Academy)
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) – able to conduct full mediations in either language
  • Published author of books, research, and articles on domestic violence, custody mediation, and trauma recovery
  • Skilled in family, divorce, custody, and interpersonal conflict mediation
  • Experienced conflict coach, negotiator, and trainer in trauma-informed practices
  • Former Victim Advocate supporting survivors of domestic and sexual violence at the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay
